Hi guys, so I’m back with another post again. This time round, I’m gonna talk about a show that I recently watch on Netflix, it’s called Crime Scene The Vanishing at the Cecil Hotel. It’s about a missing person who stayed at the hotel in 2013. Well, I’m not sure if you guys heard about the case at that time. Cauz I don’t really know about the case at that time and I was still a student then.
It was a case that was the talk of the town at that point of time, up til now actually. I guess that’s the reason why Netflix decided to release this show. It was so popular that there’s a Facebook page about the girl though. But I feel like this show to me, is worth watching because you get to learn a different side of Los Angeles, if you think L.A is all good & nice place. This shows another side of Los Angeles that you wouldn’t want to know about it. Especially this hotel. But I feel like because of the past that this hotel has, the reputation of it, it’s actually very bad. Well, if you want to know about the hotel, you watch this show. You’ll really get to learn the history of this hotel and about the girl. You will really be surprised.
But this girl has a medical condition and what I don’t like about it is the obviously THE PEOPLE POSTING ON THE INTERNET, on Facebook, Twitter and whatever it is. Even people who actually make a Youtube video, speaking about this case. I understand they want to solve the mystery of this case, they want to help the LAPD (police) to solve the case but they didn’t help at all. Just because you want the girl to be found, doesn’t mean that you have to act on your own. Act like you know it all when you ain’t part of the case at all. You all are just misleading the police instead of helping. Going to the hotel to get a feel of her last days in the hotel, isn’t gonna help you with anything at all and I really hate it when people actually go to the extend of going to her grave, touching her grave. Like seriously, does touching her grave give you hints on how to solve the mystery that you’re trying to solve? Why are you guys being hyped on about this case?
These people are called the ‘Web Sleuths’ on the show which I feel are very disrespectful to the deceased. Like do you think the deceased wants you to visit the hotel to get to feel of her last days in the hotel? Just because you don’t agree with the conclusion of the police, you decided to take things into your own hands? Do you have the legal rights to do that? Just because of the forensic pathologist Jason Tovar made a mistake on the report, you think that that’s not how it suppose to be concluded?
I mean to some of you guys who have watched this show, you think that there is no conclusion after the last episode but to me, that’s the conclusion. I don’t understand why are these people being so hardcore on this case. The report was being done manually, so what do you expect? So many tests have been done on the body yet nothing comes out of it, there was no evidence left on the body, so I feel that the mistake on the report is acceptable.
I mean at the end of it, you just got to accept the conclusion that the police have made. You aren’t the police, you can’t even solve this case on your own. You don’t have the legal rights. Because of all of your ‘know-it-all’ attitude/thinking, there’s a guy’s life that was being destroyed. He is scarred for his life. Because of all the smart ‘web sleuths’ that decided to blame it on him, thinking that he is the murderer whereby actually he is innocent. If you guys are so hard up on the case, you guys should’ve check the hotel check in records before you decided to push the blame on somebody. After the truth was being released, none of the people who attacked him online, decided to apologise to him nor reach out to him. All of you bastards, should take responsible for ruining somebody’s life. It is so unfair to him. He got nothing to do with it, he don’t even know the girl and you guys decided to push the blame on him and attack him out of nowhere on his social media account.
The people who are called the ‘web sleuths’ should be grateful that at least he is still alive. There are so many people who chose to commit suicide just because of cyber bullying. Cyber bullying will not stop. People should be responsible for what they post or what they say online. Even in the comment section. You’ll never know how the person is gonna take your comment/post on the other hand. Be more empathetic to people who are going through a hard time, especially people who have mental condition. There’s just so much that they can take in. Most of the time, they just want reassurance and nothing negative. If this girl reaches out for help, the outcome won’t be like that. But at that point of time, not much people knows about mental illness and they will just be judgmental of the person, thinking that the person is being disruptive.
And it’s so funny how people in the show, the web sleuths actually think that the hotel staffs and the police are working together to hide something about this case. Like seriously?! Why would the hotel staffs do something like this which doesn’t even benefit them? Why would you think the police who are handling this case, work hand in hand with the hotel staffs? What good is gonna come out of it? Well, I know the reputation of the police isn’t that great in the country, but at least RESPECT the police who are investigating on this case, they literally put in their effort to try to solve this case. You don’t appreciate their effort, then never mind la but seriously, going to the extend to think that they’re hiding something from you guys, who do you think you are? Just because you want a piece of updated information on this case from the police, you decided to blame it on them as well. HA HA HA. It’s just so funny and so ridiculous.
I have probably spoiled the show for you as I was ranting about the ‘web sleuths’ but seriously go and watch the show to actually gain an understanding of what I’m ranting about. I feel like these people thinks too highly of themselves, thinking that they know-it-all but actually not. They think they’re smarter than the police which obviously NOT. I feel that they are being disrespectful and not letting the deceased Rest In Peace. Bit I do hope that she’s at peace now. From this show, you can actually see how people on the internet can destroy someone’s life who they do not know. It’s very ridiculous & unfair. But that’s how the technology works these days. Cyber bullying is getting more & more common which is uncontrollable.
That’s all for now. I’ll probably just rant til here. If your view is different from mine, you can just keep it to yourself. I don’t have to know. I’m just posting base on my own opinion and how I feel about the people who are called the ‘web sleuths’.
