Netflix Series: Love Island USA (Season 1)

Hi, I’m back with another post after quite a long while. Yes, I’m gonna talk about another Netflix show that I finish watching recently, like yesterday. The show it’s called ‘Love Island USA Season 1’ and it’s not like Too Hot To Handle. Love Island USA it’s rated PG13 while Too Hot To Handle it’s rated R21 if I’m not wrong. The cast for Love Island is definitely different from Too Hot To Handle but if you watched Too Hot To Handle and then go watch Love Island USA Season 1, you will feel like there are some people who may have the same character as some people in Too Hot To Handle, cauz that’s what I’m feeling after watching it. I’m not trying to compare the characters in each show but that’s basically how I feel after watching both shows.

Both shows focuses on different things definitely. For Too Hot To Handle, there are some sexual contents going on but obviously you won’t be able to see the ‘sex scene’ and if I’m not wrong like since the 1st 2 episodes, there is already an announcement on the prize money. Well, I may be wrong cauz I’ve watched the show like months ago so, obviously I cannot really remember the details of the show. But for Love Island, they are actually really focusing on the people in the show making real, deep connection. The prize money was announced at the start but I feel like people in the show quickly forget about that and got reminded only when 4 couples made into the finals and like between the top 2 couples. So the prize money came only when the host announced the results of couples that came in 4th place, 3rd place. After the host announced the runner-up, then the host talked about the prize money. So for the couple who came in 1st, they each get to choose 1 envelope each. So the person who got the envelope with the money gets to choose either to keep it or share it. If the person chose to keep it, it shows that the person came for the money but if the person chose to share it, the person really came for love. I find this setting is more acceptable unlike Too Hot To Handle which they end up splitting the money with a group of people who made it through the entire show.

For Too Hot To Handle, it‘s kind of like seeing whether the cast can withstand not having sex or lIke do hanky-panky, even kissing for the entire show. If they did any of that, there will be deduction done on the prize money. So yeah, there were a lot of tension going on because money is involved which I don’t really like. But yeah, it’s just a show. So for the cast that I don’t really like on the show was Chloe Veitch, Nicole O’Brien David Birtwistle, Sharron Townsend, Matthew Smith and definitely Harry Jowsey. Actually I don’t like really don’t like some of them like David Birtwistle, Sharron Townsend and Matthew Smith but I feel like they somehow disrespect some ladies in the show after like watching Francesca talking about it and I kinda agree with her. But for Harry Jowsey, I really don’t like him because he didn’t admit his mistake and make it look like he is the victim. I’m pretty sure I’ve blogged about his relationship with Francesca and I really feel like he is a disgrace to man. He still got the cheek to made highlights on Instagram and call himself ‘Love Doctor’ like WTF?! How thick skin can you be? You cheated on your girl who have your back, who loved you 100%. I straight away unfollowed him. He don’t deserve to be in a relationship at all since he don’t know how to respect ladies at all. I feel like he don‘t even wanna commit in a relationship. He is just full of shit and I really cannot.

That’s my rant for Too Hot To Handle. But for Love Island USA Season 1, the people that I don’t like are Caro, Yamen, Weston and Eric. For Caro, I feel like she’s a flirt. She flirt with a few guys on the show and she act cute by talking in baby voice which is really annoying and she’s not even being herself which I really cannot take it and I freaking hate it. I don’t even know why she can make it into the finals. She should’ve been kicked out the moment when she can but she got saved by the other islanders cauz ‘friendship’. The 1st guy I don’t like on the show is YAMEN. He is freaking a player. He keeps changing his partner during re-coupling and he definitely cannot take it when people call him ‘player’. He says he is not a player but seriously, HE IS A FUCKING PLAYER. His ego is so freaking HIGH UP. I can’t stand watching his part. I feel like punching him and scolding him straight in the face. Yet he made into like the last few episodes. I don’t understand why the islanders decided to save him when he got the lowest vote or something. I can’t remember but all I remember was that he got the lowest vote, same for Caro so the islanders decided to save them. They are not worth saving. But Yamen ended up didn’t make it into finals. He got voted out with this girl called Aissata. I felt like ‘OMG, HE FINALLY GOT DUMPED FROM THE SHOW’ but obviously left with the girl which I don’t think he deserves it. I don’t think he stayed true at all. I forgot what he said but something along the line like he is staying true to himself or something. He even said ‘there’s player on the beach and then there’s player, I’m not even player on the beach’ which I felt like WTF. He is damn freaking egoistic up onto the point that I really cannot stand it at all. Next up will be WESTON. This guy is another one that keeps changing partner during re-coupling. He even have beef with all the ladies in the show just because the ladies feel like he is not genuine at all because he keeps choosing a new girl during re-coupling. Well, I find that true. He almost left the show just because he felt betrayed. LOL. But yet, he made it into the finals which I don’t think he deserves it at all. As for Eric, I feel like he thinks too highly of himself. So that’s why I don’t like him. His self-esteem is way too high.

But I feel like overall the show is not that bad, it could’ve been better without these few people, Caro, Yamen and Weston. Especially Yamen. I wouldn’t say I like the show. I don’t really know how to describe the show but I got hooked on quite fast. There is a season 2 but I’m not interested to watch it now. Maybe someday I‘ll watch. I’ll just take a break. I wouldn’t really recommend this show but if you’re curious about it since I’ve blogged about it, you can go watch it. It’s on Netflix. Maybe after you watch it, you may feel how I feel towards these people. Or maybe you’ll think differently but whatever.
